In 2018, Denver voters committed to making postsecondary education more attainable by passing the Prosperity Denver ballot initiative. While we could not have known the challenges our community would face, nor the importance this initiative would hold in its inaugural year, we simply believed in the power of education.
We’re immensely proud of the fact that our work led to the approval of 21 nonprofits receiving funding as Supported Organizations through $10 million in reimbursements for postsecondary scholarships and support services for nearly 2,000 Denver students.
These dollars not only help our City’s current and future scholars achieve educational milestones, but they greatly contribute to the success and sustainability of our regional economy by empowering our local communities to achieve their own prosperity.
Despite the uncertainty and instability of 2020, we expect the Fund’s impact to increase as we onboard even more Denver-serving nonprofits to become supported organizations of the Fund — and serve thousands of more students.
